Gravel Riding on the Monaro
The Monaro Region is a fantastic place for gravel riding! While road rides are great, the network of gravel roads is enormous. The type of gravel varies as well - providing roads and surfaces for a range of abilities and challenges. If you are a local or visiting, there is sure to be a ride which suits.

The following information is an initial description of loops based upon towns. Thanks and acknowledgement to "St Paul".
These will be developed over time. The plan will be to provide maps and GPX files as per road rides - here's a start ........ ​​​
A. COOMA LOOPS
A.1 Cooma – Carlaminda Road to Numeralla – Beresford Road to highway – 6 kms of highway to Cooma.
A.2 Myalla Road – Bobundra Lane – Cottage Creek Road – Maffra Road or extend by going to Springfield Road – Maffra – Black Range Road.
A.3 Highway to airport – Arable Road – Berridale Road to Dalgety – Snowy River Way – Black Range Road – Cottage Creek Road – Maffra Road.
A.4 Highway to airport – Arable Road – Brooks Road – Cootralandra Road – Slacks Creek Road – Cooma.
A.5 Highway – Dry Plain Road – Caddigat Road – Kingston Road – Bolaro – Shannons Flat Road (almost Adaminaby but not quite).
A.6 Cooma – Carlaminda Road – Numeralla – Countegany – Kybeyan – Nimmitabel – Springfield Road – Myalla Road – Cooma.
A.7 Short loop around Cooma - Pig farm road, Old Dry plains road, Towrang road inc dirt section to Woodland drive, Scotts road, Mittagang road … approximately 36 km. Add Carlaminda, Middle flat and Yallakool to start to bring to over 50km.
B. DALGETY LOOPS
B.1 Rockwell Road - Bobundra Lane – Springfield Road – Avon Lake Road – Ironmungy – Jimenbuen – Dalgety (if Snowy River low, if not come back through Maffra)
B.2 Dalgety – Baloka – Paupong Road – Numbla Vale. Loop involving Rose Road and then back to Dalgety (can be figure of eight).
B.3 Shorter loops such as Rockwell – Bobundra Lane – Berridale Road.
C. BOMBALA LOOPS
C.1 Cathcart – Creewah – Packers Swamp Road – Steeple Flat Road – Nimmitabel. Return either by New Line Road back to Cathcart or Old Bombala Road – Mount Cooper Road – Gunningrah Road back to Bombala.
C.2 Delegate – Myalla – Craigie – Bombala.
C.3 Bombala – Wyndham – Big Jack and return.
C.4 Down Coolangubra Forest Way, Imlay Road and up Wog Way.
